(HAWTHORNE, NJ) – The Passaic County Board of Commissioners, Passaic County Sheriff’s Office and Passaic County Paws, Inc. will host the 5th Annual Paws in the Park on Saturday, October 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne.
Paws in the Park supports the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Unit K-9, which patrols county parks and county-owned properties.
In addition to being a fun day of demonstrations of the Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 unit, food trucks and microchips, Paws in the Park aims to find homes for local animals in need of adoption and to raise funds to support the Passaic County Sheriff. Department K-9 Unit. This includes funding for the maintenance and care of the retired sheriff’s dogs. In previous years, they have welcomed over 2,000 people and their pets to this event.
As part of an initiative to raise funds for their K-9s, Passaic County is offering people to purchase commemorative bricks in the name of their pet or family, where they will be placed in the Pet Memorial Garden of Lambert Castle. The purchase of a brick is tax deductible.
Goffle Brook Park is located at 788 Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
