Saving Grace Animal Society Hosts Pints for Pets Fundraiser

“This year more than ever, we have had to rely on the public for donations to feed our animals. With so many animals in care, it’s been nearly impossible to keep our shelves stocked for long,” McClughan said.

Adoptable dogs and cats will be present as well as SGAS merchandise tables. Proceeds from the featured beer, The Cherry Cobbler Sour, will be donated to the company.

“We have noticed a trend in attendance, with in-person fundraising events being lower than in previous years. I think coming out of last year, people are busier than ever trying to make up for lost fun. Although we fully support this, fundraising is so important to our society that we operate solely on donations from the public, she said. “Luckily, we know that in addition to the support of animal lovers, we can count on the love of people for beer, tacos and good old-fashioned socializing!”

Founded in 2018, SGAS operates an animal sanctuary in Alix, Alberta, as well as an offsite sanctuary for the rescue and recovery of animals of all sizes. The society works with trainers, veterinary staff and volunteers to rehabilitate animals to ensure that each animal receives “saving grace” and an opportunity for a new home.

With over 3,000 adoptions and 15 major rescue missions to date, the charity relies solely on a donation-based operating budget. The shelter takes emergency calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, rescuing animals from all over Alberta and Saskatchewan.

“Who doesn’t love the combination of tacos, puppies and beer? It’s a match made in heaven. We hope to fill the dining room and fill the outdoor seating area and make this event a huge success! McClughan said.
