Chase Bryant has added another pet to his family.
In mid-September, the “Little Bit of You” singer welcomed a puppy named Goose, and he didn’t hesitate to show her off by posting an adorable photo of the animal on Instagram.
“I’ll leave that here,” the country star captioned the photo of the puppy sitting in a swing.
Goose is a 10 week old German shorthair pointer, a breed known to be excellent hunting companions. Bryant discovered the breed on a hunting trip with the 1865 Iowa Heritage Hunting Lodge, where the crooner was able to go out in a group that included German shorthair pointers.
“I’m really excited about this new puppy, Goose. It wasn’t too long ago that I was lucky enough to visit Heritage 1865 and hunt pointers for the first time,” Bryant told PEOPLE. “It was amazing to watch them work.”
This trip inspired Bryant to get his older dog Trigger, also a German shorthaired pointer, and then Goose after that. Like Trigger, Goose trains to participate in dove, duck, and quail hunting.
“I’ve wanted bird dogs my whole life so I can’t wait to share a great bond with Goose,” adds Bryant of the relationship he’s starting to build with the puppy.
Trigger also appreciates the extra canine company. The older puppy lets Goose rule the perch at home, but he’s also the one who shows him the ropes when it comes to training.
