Emilie Rodriguezmanager at Emergent Method, was selected by Consulting magazine as Woman Leader in Technology 2022.

The consultancy profession’s flagship publication award honors women leaders for their impact and contributions to clients in technology.

Prior to joining Emergent Method in 2016, Rodriguez held a similar role for an international IT consulting firm, overseeing user acceptance testing and system modernization enhancements.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology and audiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in information assurance from Louisiana Tech University.

Dr Oliver GardenDean of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, recently received the 2020 Blaine Award from the British Small Animal Veterinary Association.

The award is given for outstanding contributions to the advancement of small animal veterinary medicine or surgery.

Garden became dean of the veterinary school in August. Garden is also Kenneth Burns’ endowed president at the school. Previously, he was chairman of the Department of Clinical Sciences and Advanced Medicine at Penn Vet.

He earned a doctorate from the Royal Veterinary College, completed Wellcome Trust fellowships at the University of South Carolina and Imperial College London, and a residency in small animal internal medicine at Cornell University.

Tiffany Wilkerson Franklin and Renita W. Marshall, from the Southern University Ag Center, were recently featured in the National 4-H Council’s Trailblazers campaign.

The council launched the campaign to recognize people who break down barriers, create change, inspire others, pave the way for future generations and bring the 4-H mission to life.

Wilkerson-Franklin is the Agricultural Center’s Associate Youth Specialist and Program Leader for 4-H and Youth Development. She is a principal investigator in a study of the 4-H LIFE mentoring program for children whose parents are incarcerated.

Marshall is Vice Chancellor for Academics and Student Support at the Agricultural Center and Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences. She is the first black female professor at the Southern University Agricultural Research & Extension Center, founding president of the National Association for Black Veterinarians, and contact veterinarian covering state agricultural emergencies for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture.
