87 roosters seized from Rusk County roosters fighting ring

While I was shocked to see a cockfighting ring in Rusk County being dismantled by the local sheriff’s office, it didn’t seem like a big deal for many people on social media. Details were released by the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office of around 87 roosters confiscated and 13 people arrested during the bust.

We have a variety of photos provided by law enforcement which you can see below which show the animals, various items seized and photos of most of the suspects apprehended in this case. The suspects in this case range from 19 to 70 and all face cockfighting charges.

A lot of people didn’t seem to care about cockfighting online

I am a huge fan of animals and I don’t understand why someone would engage in cockfighting or injure animals for their own satisfaction. However, I always like to try to see things from another’s point of view. And a lot of people have said online that these roosters will now be put to death anyway because the sheriff’s office doesn’t have a place to put them. I can’t say for sure what will happen to these animals next, but I love knowing that they won’t be fighting for their lives this weekend.
